Punta del Este - Empanadas!

The Artania anchored at 7 this morning in the mouth of the Rio de la Plata. The weather had cooled some. The skies were cloudy. Optimism reigned, and we packed bathing suits and towels. We set off to find our assigned group on the ship, then take the tender boat to the harbor, and board our bus for the morning.

The bus took drove us to the major sightseeing highlights of the region, where we had time to take some photos. My favorite is called “La Mano”.

The guided tour ended after 3 hours back at the harbor. We had the rest of the day to do something on our own. It remained a little cool for swimming. Eve and I walked through the town and along the  coastline. The town is wealthy (Think St. Tropez). Eve’s highlight was a rocky perch on the shore.

Mine was the snack of fresh Empanadas.

    1. Thanks Bill. Having seen a place makes it much more real when hearing something about it in the news.
