Our highly anticipated entrance to Buenos Aires took place early morning under cloudless skies. By breakfast we were berthed at our pier, about 3 km from the city center.
The cruise terminal coexists with a busy container terminal. Shuttle buses ferried us between the ship and terminal entrance, zigzagging through the cranes and stacks of containers.
The day’s first activity was an organized excursion north of Buenos Aires to the town of Tigre, a well developed local tourist destination on the Parana delta.
A 90 minute boat trip through the somewhat muddy waters of the canals rated 5 out of 10 points. We returned to the ship around 2 pm, hot and sweaty, desiring only a quiet siesta to escape the summer midday heat.
