The air temperature at sunrise is 31 degrees. It will be hot today. Before I go further, a few photos from last night.
The ship put on a barbecue dinner party for the 190 of us on board who are traveling around the world. It was a wonderful evening. Lots of shrimps from the barbie, plus roast tenderloin and sausages. The group of us making the tour are slowly getting to know each other.
Awaking this morning my first thought was church bells. I suddenly miss the daily pealing of church bells. They are omnipresent in Germany. Eve suggested I request the cruise director to play a recording of bells every morning along with (or maybe instead of) his fairly dry daily report on our position and course at sea. I am thinking about it.
We breakfast, and prepare for the day. There is no morning lecture, and it is warm on deck.
I break out my laptop, which I have yet to use, and spend the day backing up photos from my phone, and playing with iMovie. The app will be useful to create a presentation combining photos, videos, and sound. I have had up till now no experience with it. I made a few sample clips, and the results look promising. Though I fear Apple’s AI will always make more professional looking videos than I ever will.
One of the controls in the app for transitioning photos is the “Ken Burns” control. I am pleasantly surprised with myself for immediately grasping the significance.
Tomorrow, Broome.
