Akaroa - Banks Peninsula

 

Akaroa is situated on a protected harbor on the Banks Peninsula just below Christchurch. The cheery lady (native of Akaroa) at the tourist info center recommended the Childrens Bay hike to us. It sounded like a good plan. 








We encountered unexpected wildlife along the way. 




The hilltop offered magnificent panoramas across the small bays fingering into the landscape. 


A perfect hike. A perfect day.
