Cruising the Fjords

 

This morning we studied our track leaving Punta Arenas, completing our journey through the Straits of Magellan and entering glacier country. 

Monochrome landscapes in all directions. Occasional views of ice covered mountains in the distance. 

After breakfast, we headed to the lounge. A pianist and a cellist were playing “Classic Hits to Cruise the Chilean Fjords By”. A wonderfully meditative morning. Eve has a new highlight for the cruise. 

Late afternoon, the Captain announced that we would make a little side trip to one of the glaciers. 

All were on deck as we approached. More than a couple of us recognized that we are seeing something in nature that will not be around very much longer. 

Photos were taken. Adios was said.
