Porto Belo

Another day, another Brazilian rain forest and sandy beach to visit. We finished breakfast and went on deck to observe our arrival at the anchorage position.

But one must be flexible when one is at sea. Mother Nature is in charge.

We lay at anchor in the bay for an hour or so, hoping the rolling swells and winds would calm. The deckhands prepared the gangways.

Shortly after noon, the captain announced that he was canceling the excursions. The strong winds made the use of tender boats difficult and dangerous for the experienced crew, much less for the hundreds of guests.

We pulled anchor and set course for Rio Grande, our final port of call in Brazil.
