Indian Ocean - Lonely Trip

The Artania left Port Kelang, Malaysia on the evening of 29 April. We cruised the night and next day through the Malaccan Strait, heading northwest. Rounding the tip of Sumatra, we changed course to southwest. Destination:  Mauritius.

We are crossing the Indian Ocean on the longest stretch at sea of our journey. We will be a full week underway. Yesterday, at 6:40 am, we crossed the equator again. Neptune was probably still sleeping.

Notably, the ship is fairly empty. We passengers total 350, 190 of which are doing the world cruise. The crew continues with its normal contingent of 550. The three dining rooms remain open.  No one is competing for a table or a lounge chair. The numbers are rumored to increase in Durban. We will see.

Eve and I are spending our days sorting through photos. I have set a goal to have all my photos organized before we get home. I am making good progress. The days go by quickly.
