Mau Mau

Today is a sea day. Eve does some wash. I catch up on my blogs. At 2 pm we meet Dessau for a round of Mau Mau. 


Mau Mau is a german card game which I quite enjoy. I am not aware of an American equivalent. 


Suffice it to say, 7’s, aces, and jacks all have special meanings. I was quite excited to have been dealt such a useful hand. 


The round was nail biting. I did win, but just barely. 


As I may have already mentioned, our sea days go by quickly.   


Tomorrow: Gisborne.

    How are your sea legs when you get onshore? I assume your ship has all the modern stabilizers.

    Ed, so far have not particularly noticed the difference between sea and shore. Maybe the new hips account for that! The ship itself is pretty old, I am not aware of special stabilization equipment. Good luck also helps; the strongest movement we have experienced was the night we left Hamburg. Since then, smooth sailing.
