Anakena Beach, the lone sandy beach on Easter island, was today’s tender boat destination. We rose early, put on our swimsuits and sun lotion, breakfasted, and watched the breakers rolling onto the shore.
The captain soon judged them to be too severe for the tender boats.
To assuage our disappointment, the captain cruised slowly around the island, offering views of landscapes now familiar to us from last night’s film.
Rounding the last point, we set course at 280 degrees. Destination: Pitcairn Island
